Here at Morningstar Christian Chapel, one of the many ways we love, serve, and model Christ in the community around us is through our Sports Ministry. Sports are huge here in sunny Southern California, and thousands of our neighbors participate in them, all the while having never met Jesus. We believe that sports are created by God, for the Glory of God; and that we as Christians can play them unto His Glory. Sports, and local sports leagues go wrong when we as sinners take those things that were meant to glorify God and make them ultimate; replacing the worship of God himself with that which was created by Him (in this case, sports). This would be why adult Father’s get ejected from local little league games, high school student athletes get caught with anabolic steroids, or why anyone would pay $700 for a softball bat. Sports have become themselves ultimate; The creation is worshiped rather than the creator (Romans 1:25).

1. Providing a discipleship opportunity for Christians outside of the Church campus.
2. Providing a sanctification opportunity for Christians in the rigors, stress, and failure of competition.
3. Providing an evangelism opportunity for Christians as they model Christ amongst the lost.
4. Provide an exercise opportunity for Christians as they use their bodies for Christ’s glory in competition.

So grab a flyer, come to an information meeting, call the Church Office, or send us an email using the "Get Involved" form on the right for more information on joining a team. Teams include: Adult softball (men’s and coed), adult Basketball (men’s), and flag football (men’s). Join us in praying that Jesus be exalted and made known in our community though His people living as a redeemed community within the greater community around us.

We Hold quarterly "All Sports" meetings, which typically coincide with the sports seasons beginning. Listen for an announcement, look for a flyer, speak with someone at the information counter about how to get involved, or send us an email to the Sports Director using the "Get Involved" form on the right.

The first step in joining the sports ministry is to fill out the "Player Placement Survey". Once we have your information we will be contacting you for a short interview so that we may place you on the correct team as soon as possible.
