"But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on it's behalf, for in it's welfare you shall find your welfare...do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are My People."

(Jonah 4:11) "Shall I not love that great city?" Says the God of Jonah, to rebuke his lovelessness toward a fallen people. We live on the fringes of a great city, upstream, that pumps music, thought, film, art, and worldview to our suburban doorsteps (if not the entire world). It's our prayer that in the midst of this great fallen city, Jesus may be known. It's our prayer that more and more Christians hear the call to this great city, and come that many may know Jesus in the city. Here at Morningstar, we believe that it’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ that changes a city. We seek to give the people of Morningstar the opportunity to serve the city, by bringing the Gospel to her. This happens in a couple different ways through "Inner City Missions."

We are involved with "Fred Jordan and Orange County Rescue Mission." Teams of Morningstar Servants Travel down to the Inner City to lead worship, and preach the Gospel to the hundreds of men and women gathered together in the Mission. As God saves in our midst, we seek to plug these men and women in with Biblical Churches, so they can grow deeply with Jesus.

Get Involved:
If you would like to get involved with Inner City Missions, there are a couple different ways you can plug in. We hold quarterly Outreach Ministry meetings, which give information for those interested about how to become involved. Listen for an announcement, look for a flyer, or speak with someone at the Information Counter about how to get involved. Teams leave from the Church monthly, so grab a flyer, and come and see what God is doing in the Inner City!
