Why do we serve at the Watts Youth outreach?
We seek to bring Jesus glory by coming alongside Hope Central Watts Church in order to see people meet Jesus in the city of Watts, especially in and through the city youth outreach hosted by Hope Central Watts Church. We want to become bondservants for the witness that Hope Central Watts Church has in the City of Watts through bringing our people to help serve their outreach event on Friday nights, and other additional outreach event opportunities to come.
"But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in it's welfare you shall find your welfare...do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are My People."
Jeremiah 29:7, Acts 18:10
What do we do at the Watts Youth outreach?
There are many activities going on for the many teens, children, and families present at the Watts Youth Outreach, but primary for us is to share the gospel with life and lips. Often our witness through love and life gives us the opportunity to share the gospel with our lips (Romans 10:17). We play games or sports with kids, help with homework, serve them dinner, paint faces, sing worship songs, and share messages from the Bible about Jesus. The opportunities to serve are numerous! Most of all, we find every possible, Biblical way to show them the love of Jesus (Luke 19:10, John 3:16).
