Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.
We all go through the ups and downs of our spiritual lives. The book of Judges has the same pattern over and over: the people of Israel sinned, the Lord judged them, the people repented, the Lord sent them a judge to deliver them. Then the people of Israel would sin again and the pattern would start all over.
In our lives, we need constant revival, because we fall into the same patterns. We sin against God, God judges through the consequences of that sin, we cry out and repent, and God sends His judge, Jesus, into our lives to revive us. Then it starts over again.
All of us are going to suffer. We're going to go through hard times, but God restores us in His mercy, according to this verse. Don't beat yourself up! Proverbs 24:16 says, For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. The Lord loves you and will continue to pick you up and dust you off to use you for His purposes.
