Psalm 4:6-8

There are many who say, "Who will show us any good?" LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:6-8

Note from verse 6, that though many may question the goodness of God, David would not. Instead he declared his unwavering confidence in the Lord who had filled him with such a joy and satisfaction that not even a bumper crop could compare. God's love was far more valuable than anything David otherwise possessed.

Whenever you find yourself struggling with dissatisfaction, lamenting what you don't have or wish you did, consider what you already possess: God's great love for you, that when realized, will fill your heart with a joy and gladness to which nothing else can compare!

Stoked to be so loved by Him,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
