Psalm 14:1

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
Psalm 14:1

The Bible has many pages, but few things are ever repeated word for word. Yet this psalm is found almost identically (except for slight variations in verses 5-6) in Psalm 53. Then much of it is repeated yet again by the apostle Paul who uses it as the theme to anchor his argument in Romans 1, then repeats these things once more in Romans 3:10-12.

Whenever God speaks we should listen, when He repeats Himself twice, we should really pay attention, but how about four times? In each place the subject is the same: the total corruption of the human race reflected in their assessment of God's existence and His declaring they are utterly sinful. So we learn that the knowledge of God and a relationship with Him are made possible only by His loving grace with which He reveals Himself to sinners who need to know His saving love.

So thankful God did not leave me in the dark,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
