Psalm 37:7-8

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm.
Psalm 37:7-8

The truth is, I get very annoyed when it seems as though the "bad guy" gets all the breaks. I can hear the phrase "nice guys finish last" echoing in my mind, especially when the "bad guy" does well at my expense. My annoyance quickly turns to anger. And man, do I fret! I want to fix things my way!

But the Lord tells me to rest in Him and to wait patiently for Him. And that gives me hope because I'm not just being patient for patience's sake, I'm going to wait for the Lord so that I can have Him and His way in my life. His way is just. His way is compassionate. His way is infinitely better than my way.

Brothers and sisters, let's take God's offer to heart. Resting in Him, waiting for Him, trusting in Him. Only in the Lord do we have the freedom and ability to cease from anger, to forsake wrath, and leave our demands for justice in the hands of the One who will make every wrong right.
