Joshua 11:9

So Joshua did to them as the Lord had told him: he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
Joshua 11:9

We know that Joshua's army was a ground army. There is no mention of horses and chariots. Put yourselves into Joshua's shoes. After an amazing defeat of the enemy, there are all these horses and chariots. Normal thinking would say, "We can be a more powerful army with assets like horses and chariots." But no, the Lord told him to get rid of the temptation to use man's methods of warfare. After all, the Lord had promised that He would go before the Israelites and defeat the enemy and He would not need horses and chariots to do so.

Our battle is a spiritual battle and as such, conventional weapons are of no use in facing spiritual enemies. In other words, protests, demonstrations, and petitions will be useless.

The Lord speaking through the Apostle Paul said, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:3–5).

God has given us His Word, prayer, and the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit to equip us in facing the enemy. In sum, recall the words of David, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God” (Psalms 20:7).
