Luke 15:17-18

But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you."
Luke 15:17-18

The story of the Prodigal son is a familiar parable that Jesus told. But have you ever noticed that the father never went after the boy? No matter how long he was gone, the father waited patiently on the porch for his son’s return.

If we have determined to walk away from our Heavenly Father, He too waits patiently for us to come to our senses. He lets us get to that point where we figure out that life in the Father’s house was much better than being out here on our own. Have you walked away? Turn toward His open arms today and watch Him run to meet you.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,

Pastor Gerard Deleeuw
