Ephesians 2:1-5

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).
Ephesians 2:1-5

"But God…" These two words change everything for us. Ephesians states "we were dead" in our trespasses and sins. Paul takes three verses to explain to us just how serious the situation was. Then in verse 4, something wonderful happens. "But God." God steps in, not because we deserve it, but simply because He loves us. In Romans 5:7-8, Paul says, "Scarcely for a righteous man will one die… But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Share this with someone who does not know the Lord today. Share with someone how much God loves them, and what Jesus has done for them.
