Psalms 103:12

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Psalms 103:12

When we look at the sun, we see the sun as it was eight-and-a-third minutes earlier. It takes that long for light traveling at the speed of 186 thousand miles per second to reach the earth's surface. However, what we see is the complete record of what left the sun's surface. Using a high-power telescope, we can the see the sun's surface in great detail. Conversely, if it were possible to be on the sun's surface, we could see the exact record of the earth's activity that took place eight-and-a-third minutes earlier. In fact, we would be able to see what people were doing at that point in time.

Since there is a record of everywhere we have gone and everything we have done, is there anything in that record that we would wish was not there? I am sure this is true for all of us. Our verse for today is good news because we are told that God is able to and does remove our sins as far as the East is from the West. This is significant because going east, one is always going east and going west one is always going west. However going north over the earth's surface and crossing over the North Pole, we will then be going South. Now we understand why God uses the terms east and west. Thankfully the cleansing blood of Jesus is God's great eternal eraser.
