Psalm 145:18

The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
Psalm 145:18

We tend to neglect the privilege of prayer until trouble comes, then we are quick to pray. In fact, we usually ask everyone we know to tell everyone they know to pray. The Lord often uses circumstances to drive us to call on Him.

There are three kinds of faith in Jesus Christ: struggling faith, much like a man floundering in deep water; clinging faith, this is the man who is now hanging to the side of a boat; and resting faith, which finds a man safe inside the boat. It takes a lot of floundering, then hanging on for dear life, before we can be that man in the boat, resting as the storms rage around us. But this is the sort of faith we need to be effective as Christians.

Do you feel as though you are drowning in deep water? Call on Him today. Do you feel like you are clinging to the side of the boat holding on for dear life? Call on Him today. Be confident that He is near to you. The LORD is getting you to that place of rest, comfortable in the lifeboat of grace and salvation.

Prayer is a privilege. Let's not take it for granted.
