Joshua 3:5

And Joshua said to the people, "Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."
Joshua 3:5

This was the command Joshua gave to the Israelites the day before they were to cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land. The people were full of anticipation as to how the Lord was going to get them into the land. So in preparation, Joshua called the people to "sanctify" themselves. The word "sanctify" means - to set apart for a holy purpose.

In those places where we are asking the Lord to work, are we willing to sanctify ourselves in anticipation of what He will do. Maybe we should take some time today and pray that the Lord would set apart our hearts toward His holy purpose and then watch with wonder as He finishes what He started.

Being set apart so I don't come apart,
