2 Peter 1:4

By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2 Peter 1:4

Have you ever noticed all the lies that the world will try and sell you? The world will promise you that if you just make a little more money, you will be happy; if you just try this drug, all your pain will go away; or if you just find the right person, you will become the best you. The world tries to sell us these lies but no matter who you are, you soon discover that all the promises of the world fall short. For us, as Christians, we know where true joy comes from -- Jesus Christ. When Jesus makes promises to us, you can bet that He is going to keep it, even to the point of giving His life.

While writing his final words, Peter reminds the church to hold firm to the exceedingly great promises of God. As Peter's life was coming to an end, he saw that the promises of God only became greater. For us, as the promises of God are precious, they are able to get us through the toughest of times and, unlike the promises of the world, God's promises are never broken. So no matter what you are going through today or this week, hold tight to the precious promises of God and let them be an encouragement to you and others.

For the King,

Daniel Batistelli
