Acts 5:27-28

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!"
Acts 5:27-28

In the early church, Peter and John and others had been warned of preaching in Jesus' name and here they are re-arrested for having ignored their previous mandate. We must obey God, Peter had told the council. Look here at the high priest's accusation against them for it is an assessment from their enemy as to their effectiveness in sharing the God news of salvation found in Jesus. You have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine!

I pray that today in our generation you and I might also be accused of that; of filling our city, our job place, our schools, our neighborhoods, and our families with the truth of God's love and the salvation that can be found at the feet of Jesus. But that will only happen as we boldly speak up and speak out as did the early saints of God (Acts 5:41-42)!

Silent witnesses are just that, they are silent!
