Psalm 62:6

He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
Psalm 62:6

All of us have to ask ourselves, "What gets us through life?" For me, and probably for many of you, it has been a variety of things through the years. But all of those things, whether it is alcohol or just having fun, eventually turn out to be temporary.

When I gave my life to Jesus 23 years ago, that all changed. My faith in Christ gets me through life today and will do the same tomorrow. Jesus is my rock, the unmovable foundation on which I have set my feet. He is my salvation, who has changed my heart and my life and gives me purpose.

Jesus is my defense. When my flesh, the enemy, or the world tries to bring me down, He is always there defending me. Because of all that, I shall not be moved. I don't have faith in Jesus because I make good choices. I have faith because there's nowhere else to turn. In John 6:68, Peter told Jesus, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Wherever else you turn will fall short.

Standing on the Rock,
