1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

Has the weight of sin or a temptation in your life ever been so overwhelming that you feel like you can't overcome it? In this passage of scripture, Paul is encouraging the Corinthian church to abstain from the lusts of this world and to pursue a holy relationship with Christ. The first encouragement for the believer in the above verse is that we are not alone in our sins and temptations. Our enemy wants to isolate us and make us feel as though we are alone in our struggles, but here, Paul is telling the church that all people struggle with the same things; there is no temptation that is not common to all people.

The second encouragement in this verse is that in our temptation God will always make a way of escape for us. Take note that the word for escape in the Greek is singular; our escape is only found in Christ. If you are struggling with a sin that you can't seem to beat, know that you have a way to overcome it and the way is Jesus Christ.
