Nehemiah 5:19

Remember me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.
Nehemiah 5:19

Nehemiah was a godly leader whose life led the nation of Israel back to a time of revival in the Lord after generations of being lukewarm. Yet he had a personal price to pay for his strong and godly leadership. In the above verse, as well as in Nehemiah 13:13, 13:22, and 13:31, Nehemiah specifically asked God to remember the cost he was willing to endure to lead the nation in God's ways. The cost of bearing fruit can be steep, yet the blessings and benefits are always eternal. Nehemiah did what was right at each turn no matter the cost to himself.

Maybe today your choice to do things God's way is costing you and you wonder if the cost is worth it. May I assure you that it is. God keeps good track of any sacrifice made for His glory (Hebrews 6:10).

Glad He remembers,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
