Jeremiah 17:7-8

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8

I have a tree in the corner of my backyard that stands about five feet tall. I hope someday this tree will be a source of shade for the yard but unless the rains come, or I keep the sprinklers going, it'll never grow that big. The tree described in Jeremiah has been planted by a constant source of water. So no matter what the outside influences may be, the tree is virtually unaffected.

With Jesus as our source of nourishment, we need to plant ourselves right next to Him and we will continue to grow and bear spiritual fruit in our lives no matter what the world throws at us.

Faithfully planted,

Pastor Gerard Deleeuw
