Acts 19:18-19

And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver.
Acts 19:18-19

When Paul delivered the gospel to Ephesus, it brought mass revival to the whole city. Ephesus was a city that was filled with a multitude of sin, including witchcraft. When the people of Ephesus received the gospel it changed them from the inside out. The change was so deep and so genuine that they were willing to destroy the things of their past that could weigh them down, no matter what the cost. There are often times when believers hold on to a part of their past that they need to destroy, but instead they hold on to it and it weighs them down. Perhaps it is time to take inventory of your life and see if you are holding on to anything from your past that you need to destroy.
