Psalm 29:2

Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 29:2

When you think of worship, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? For most, the first image would be singing together on Sunday morning with the rest of the body. Corporate worship is something I think most of us look forward to but is there more to worship than just gathering together to sing?

In the verse above, the word for worship is "to bow down." True worship starts by remembering who God is and what He has done. Revelation 4:11 says "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will, they exist and were created."

Worship is an intelligent response to what God has done for us. God's action prompts my reaction to praise Him.

So there is never a time when we should not be in a state of worship. Just as we worship Him with our voice, we can worship Him with our service. Our day-to-day activities can become worship if we will first acknowledge all that He has done for us, and then live accordingly.

Worshiping our King,

Pastor Rod Harris
