Zechariah 3:3-5

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, "Take away the filthy garments from him." And to him He said, "See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes." And I said, "Let them put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the LORD stood by.
Zechariah 3:3-5

Whenever my clothes get dirty and, by proxy, I get dirty as well, I cannot wait to change. I don't mean some dust or a little sweat. I am talking muddy, drenched in sweat, don't even want to touch anything because it's going to get everywhere kind of dirty. After cleaning up and putting on clean clothes, it is such a refreshing feeling! Now, imagine I told you something different. After cleaning up, I went into my hamper and put back on the clothes that were covered in mud and sweat. That would be gross and just crazy! Praise God that is not the case for us as we continually struggle with the flesh daily.

God has given us clean clothes. What a wonderful picture of what the Lord has done for us! As believers, we are told that we were once scarlet but the Lord has made us white as snow. He has cleaned us from iniquity and removed our sins as far as the east is from the west. Don't try to put the muddy clothes back on. Know that there is no filth the Lord is not able to clean in your life. Just go to Him and watch as He receives you.

Resting in Him,

Pastor Sean Boehm
