Judges 17:6

In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
Judges 17:6

This one verse succinctly describes the 340 years of life in Israel during the time of the judges. Repeated more than once (Judges 21:25), it laments the lack of spiritual leadership, the lack of a standard bearer, and the lack of a voice to follow or an example to model life after. The result was that the people did whatever was right in their own eyes while doing evil in the sight of the Lord (Judges 3:12).

How we need good leaders to give examples, godly men and women that will speak God’s Word and follow God’s ways, living in public view. Today, may God use you to communicate to those around you His love, His Word, and the life that is available to anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord.

Praying that God make you shine for Him today,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
