Proverbs 4:23

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.
Proverbs 4:23

You have probably heard it said before, "The heart of every problem is the problem of the heart." When I was younger, I would cut the grass at my parents' house and if there were weeds, I would just continue to cut. About midweek, I would be in the yard playing when I would notice that weed standing out like a sore thumb. As I have grown older, I realized that in order to be fully rid of the weeds, I had to kill it at the source, the roots.

The same applies to the problems in our lives. If you are having a problem getting along with someone, you are probably holding bitterness in your heart. If you are having a problem being content, there is probably coveting going on in your heart. Are the little things getting on your nerves lately? You are probably harboring anger in your heart. If you want to get rid of these problems in your life, you need to go to the source: your heart. Here we are warned to keep our hearts in check because when we don't, the problems of our lives grow back. Pray and ask God to uproot any sins that may be stored in your heart; be diligent to keep your heart!

For the King,

Daniel Batistelli
