Job 13:20-21

Only two things do not do to me, Then I will not hide myself from You: Withdraw Your hand far from me, And let not the dread of You make me afraid.
Job 13:20-21

Job, in his suffering and torment, now turns from speaking to his friends and talks directly to God. He has two desires: that God would remove His chastening hand and give Job relief, and that God would come to Job in such a way that He would not frighten him. It is fascinating to see the prophetic element in Job's request because Jesus would indeed fulfill it. Our Savior came to take away our sin and stay the hand of judgment that we deserved from the Father. He also came as a man to live among us and was gentle, kind, approachable, and full of grace to those who seek after Him. When we are in Christ we know that our sins are forgiven and we need not fear as we walk intimately with Him.

Just a closer walk with Thee,
