Galatians 6:1-2

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:1-2

In chapter 5 of Galatians, the Apostle Paul teaches us what it means for a Christian to live a Spirit-filled life. The privilege that we enjoy to walk in the beauty, strength, and love of the Holy Spirit is a gift that we must choose to cherish, as each of us goes about our daily lives.

In chapter 6, we learn that those of us who consider Jesus as Lord have a divine responsibility to our brothers and sisters in Christ to restore, rather than shame, those who find themselves overtaken by sin. The goal is to restore in love, offering compassion and truth to the one who has fallen. Of course, we don't make light of their dark actions, but we do want to lead our fellow followers to the radiant light of God's mercy and grace, for the purpose of repentance.

You and I must always be mindful of this; each of us may find ourselves in need of brotherly or sisterly assistance on this road we travel. We are all prone to falling! Sometimes we are on the giving end, sometimes on the receiving end, but to the glory of God, let’s commit ourselves to what’s best for the other guy or gal. We'll all be spiritually richer for it.
