Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:17

As you can see below, my name has always been a challenge. People either misspell or mispronounce it. In our day, we pay very little attention to names. In the Old Testament, God sometimes changed a name to fit the destiny, like Abram to Abraham or Jacob to Israel. As Christians, we bear the name of Christ. Christian means "little Christ" or "Christ-like." His name then speaks of identification. It also speaks of authority. A man's name signed on a check gives the authority to withdraw money from the bank.

All that we do and say should be associated with the name of Jesus. So if someone were to ask, "Is this person's life and words worth emulating or following?" we should be able to say, "Yes, look! Jesus' name is written all over it." So take some time today to "learn of Him" and then be thankful that you can walk like Him.

In His image,

Pastor Gerard Deleeuw
