John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10

The world believes the opposite of this verse to be true. They believe that God wants to steal their joy and force them into slavery. I have talked to many people who won't give their lives to the Lord because they do not what to stop living the way they are living. They believe that there is no way they could give up their lifestyle of sin and if they did, they would be miserable. This is the same lie Satan used to deceive Adam and Eve, God is holding out on you. Just like it did with Adam and Eve, this lie leads to destruction.

Jesus did not come to take our joy, but that we may experience life more abundantly. As the Creator of all things, He knows how they best work, so when we read in the Word we should abstain from something, it is not to take our joy but to keep us from the pain and destruction. The question is who are you going to trust, the thief or the Creator of all things?

Blessings,

Daniel Batistelli
