Psalm 116:12-14

What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me?
Psalm 116:12

I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD.
Psalm 116:13

I will pay my vows to the LORD Now in the presence of all His people.
Psalm 116:14

This psalm is one of the Hallel or Hallelujah psalms (Psalms 113-118) sung by the children of Israel during the feast days of Passover, Tabernacles, and Pentecost. The question asked here is a good one: How can I pay my debt of gratitude for all of God's benefits towards me? He sent His Son to redeem me, sent His Spirit to call me and to dwell in me. He gave me His word to know His will and rely on His promises. He has made clear what the future holds for me.

The psalmist concludes that the best way for us to thank the Lord is to believe Him and obey Him, seek Him and serve Him, while being a witness to others. Live a life of gratitude; thankful, receiving, and responding to His goodness daily. How is your life thankful towards God today in ways that reveal His love?

Wanting to live out my devotion to Him,

Pastor Jack Abeelen
