Luke 10:2

Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
Luke 10:2

Life seems to be getting busier in our modern times. Families are loaded down with kids events, and sports, not to mention their own activities. I notice the same thing when I look at my calendar. It doesn't seem like there's ever a day where something isn't happening.

We get so busy with everything else that we forget to make time to serve the Lord. Jesus said, the harvest is great. There is no lack of God's work to do, all that's missing is the laborers. In the end, it's that service to God that gives us heavenly rewards, not those things which fill up our to-do lists.

The other problem with a life that serves the world and ignores God is it tends to make Jesus less important in your life. I've known so many families that are too busy with other projects on Sundays to go to church and I've seen the effect on the kids later on in their lives. It's better to be a laborer in the harvest and look to serve Jesus.

Occupying till He comes,

Pastor Ron Kitchell
