James 1:2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
James 1:2-4

This morning, you may be going through a difficult trial in your life or maybe even a bunch of trials. The last thing that comes to mind is to "count it all joy." How can one become joyful in the midst of a trial? As painful as it may be in times of despair, we must not lose heart. We need to be mindful of the Lord's promises that He will never give us more than we can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13) and He is our shelter in the midst of our storm (Isaiah 25:4). He will be there for you, each and every time!

We live so much in the "here and now" that we want solutions as soon as the first Amen. But remember, the Lord has a perfect plan and will for your life and enduring this trial may be the very source He chooses to speak to your heart in such an intimate way that would not have occurred otherwise. My prayer for you today is that you would not grow weary in the waiting. Continue praying, continue to meditate upon His Word, and listen intently to His still small voice.

My life in Your hands,

Tom Moore
