 Missionaries / Church Plants

"As cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a far country.
Proverbs 25:25

It is our commitment at Morningstar Christian Chapel to faithfully heed the call and command that Jesus gives to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…" Matthew 28:19. With the book of Acts as a model, our emphasis will be to plant churches both domestically, and internationally and as a sending church to equip and support the saints that are called to both pioneer these churches and/or to come along side and assist in existing church plants.

To accomplish this, Acts 1:8 provides the key resource – the power of the Holy Spirit: "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

By the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit we desire to raise up a body of believers that will through prayer, communication and support be a strong sending church here in Jerusalem and to encourage, train, send and support those that are called “to the ends of the earth” with the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. Not only to make converts but to make disciples that will take over and carry on the work. II Timothy 2:2 "And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

Mexico Medical Missions
Mission Hospital Tarahumara

Mission Hospital Tarahumara sits just out side the small town of Samachique, Mexico in the Copper Canyons The staff and volunteers minister to the indigenous Tarahumara people as well as local Mexican residence with an emphasis on medical evangelism. As they meet peoples physical needs they share the love of Jesus with them in word and action. The hospital is the only one for miles that has a maternity ward and intensive care unit. Many Tarahumara walk for miles to come to their facility but they also have two 4-wheel drive ambulances and a plane for emergency situation.

The doctors and nurses have had many opportunities to see the Tarahumara come to Christ when by nature and culture these are a very untrusting people. The team has also gone to the outlying villages to run clinics, hold health seminars, and drill for water at various schools and communities. The Lord is greatly blessing the commitment and diligence of this ministry as they move forward in God's grace and enabling.

The Barillaro Family
Calvary Chapel Mexicali, Mexico

It was February of 1994 when the Barillaros pulled into a vacant lot in the humble little neighborhood called Colonia Rivera Campestre and set up house in their green Chevy pickup. It was a real oddity to the people, a challenging adventure to John, a camping experience to the girls and a turbulent trauma to Laurie. All these years later they are now Mexican citizens and the church plant has grown. God has established their ministry. They recently built a two story, 700-seat sanctuary with classrooms and meeting spaces downstairs and the sanctuary upstairs. Pastor John simply teaching the Word simply has touched the hearts of the people of Mexicali.

Jeff, Lilia & Gabriel Roenspie
Sonora, Mexico

Since leaving the Philippines in 2003, the Roenspies felt led back to Mexico, where both Jeff and Lilia had served before they married. Currently Jeff assists in teaching and preaching at Amor Fraternal. In September, 2010, the Roenspies took the initial steps in launching a school of ministry, Escuela de Ministerio Calvario. Because Jeff has served for 5 years at the Bible College in the Philippines, he was anxious to see this same resource become a reality for the churches in Sonora. The School has grown, many have been discipled, and they have even sent out a young woman into the mission field from their ranks. Jeff and Lilia also sit on the Board for the Casa Gracia children’s Home and frequently step in to relieve the directors, Pedro and Zoila. By God’s grace and leading they have adopted a second child, Cassandra. She has been a true blessing to this committed missionary family.

Intensive Care Ministries

Intensive Care Ministries was founded in 1984 by Pastor Dan Finfrock In 1985 he moved his family to the Philippines. Since beginning, thousands of pastors and Christian workers have been taught the Inductive Study Method, and many churches flourish because of this ministry. Staff are now located in the United States, the Philippines, Russia and Africa. ICM Ministries desires to seek out gifted pastors and church workers, further equipping them in their study of the Word. Pastor Dan travels extensively throughout the world to teach the Inductive Study method to Pastors and church Leaders including such destinations as Pakistan and Iraq.
