"As cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a far country.
Proverbs 25:25
It is our commitment at Morningstar Christian Chapel to faithfully heed the call and command that Jesus gives to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…" Matthew 28:19. With the book of Acts as a model, our emphasis will be to plant churches both domestically, and internationally and as a sending church to equip and support the saints that are called to both pioneer these churches and/or to come along side and assist in existing church plants.
To accomplish this, Acts 1:8 provides the key resource – the power of the Holy Spirit: "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

|
|
By the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit we desire to raise up a body of believers that will through prayer, communication and support be a strong sending church here in Jerusalem and to encourage, train, send and support those that are called “to the ends of the earth” with the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. Not only to make converts but to make disciples that will take over and carry on the work. II Timothy 2:2 "And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

The Barillaro Family
Calvary Chapel Mexicali, Mexico
It was February of 1994 when the Barillaros pulled into a vacant lot in the humble little neighborhood called Colonia Rivera Campestrei and set up house in their green Chevy pickup. It was a real oddity to the people, a challenging adventure to John, a camping experience to the girls and a turbulent trauma to Laurie (turbulence added for effect). A lot has changed since then-the Colonia, the ministry and the Barillaros, each of which have grown slowly but surely
The original mission was to save souls by strictly teaching the Word, the ministry was not to be in any way socioeconomic. However, in the very first year of the ministry, the Lord spoke His desire to meet the needs of the people physically as well as spiritually and thus were birthed a number of ministries to the poor and homeless as well as the church, Capilla Calvario Mexicali.
John and Laurie have twin daughters, Dawn who runs Casa de Tesoros and Brandi, who is the secretary and administrator for the church.

Jeff, Lilia & Gabriel Roenspie
Sonora, Mexico
Since leaving the Philippines in 2003, the Roenspies felt led back to Mexico, where both Jeff and Lilia had served before they married. Currently Jeff assists in teaching and preaching at Amor Fraternal, oversees pastoral teaching clinics, and offers support to the coastal church pastors with resources and events. Lilia oversees Sunday School, teaches an evangelistic English as a Second Language Course, and faithfully ministers to her husband and son Gabriel. They are also involved in an outreach to a local homeless shelter and oversee the adolescents group at Amor Fraternal.
- Please pray for the Roenspie family, that their love for one another would reflect Jesus’ love!
- Pray for their provision and protection.
In September, 2010, the Roenspies took the initial steps in launching a school of ministry, Escuela de Ministerio Calvario. Because Jeff has served for 5 years at the Bible College in the Philippines, he was anxious to see this same resource become a reality for the churches in Sonora. The school has begun slowly, with an emphasis on Inductive study of the Word and service. In 2011, they hope to expand their class offerings and number of students. By the fall of 2011, the goal is to officially change the name to Insitute Biblico Capilla Calvario, Hermosillo, the official satellite campus of the Calvary’s Bible College in Ensenada.
Please pray for the resources, facilities, teachers and students hungry for the Word of God!

Dan and Debbie Finfrock
Intensive Care Ministries
Intensive Care Ministries was founded in 1984 by Pastor Dan Finfrock
In 1985 he moved his family to the Philippines. He saw the need to train national pastors how to study the Bible inductively, with an emphasis on becoming expositors of the Word. Since beginning, thousands of pastors and Christian workers have been taught the Inductive Study Method, and many churches flourish because of this ministry. Staff are now located in the United States, the Philippines, Russia and Africa. ICM Ministries desires to seek out gifted pastors and church workers, further equipping them in their study of the Word.
Intensive Care Ministries was founded to equip Pastors and Christian workers for the work of service. Our purpose is two-fold:
- To teach them how to study the Word
- To motivate them to feed their people through systematic Bible study.
Our vision is to set up training programs within various countries to accomplish these purposes.
