Ecclesiastes 10:3

Even when a fool walks along the way, He lacks wisdom, And he shows everyone that he is a fool.
Ecclesiastes 10:3

Ecclesiastes may be referred to as King Solomon's inspired book of errors. It was written at the end of his life after he strayed away from God. He hopes to teach us by pointing out the errors of his way and demonstrate that carrying out life's pursuits apart from God is empty, fruitless, and meaningless. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the entire book is a vital source of practical wisdom – something Solomon is known for.

Today's scripture is a subtle reminder that a fool can easily be identified by the way they walk, portraying characteristics of the world in obvious ways. As believers, we can also blend in with the world if we are not careful and mindful of our actions. Do others see you IN the world or OF it? In Romans 12:2, Paul instructs us not to be conformed to this world, but transformed from it by the renewing of your mind. What is true inside a person's heart will be reflected in a person's life by their thoughts, which then dictates their actions. Our love for Christ should motivate a lifestyle that is pure and above reproach. So, as we begin our day, let's do a quick heart check and determine if our words and actions are drawing others toward Jesus or away from Him. May our walk follow the path that leads to righteousness and, in doing so, may others follow.
