Romans 12:4-5

For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
Romans 12:4-5

When we look into the world, we find that there are many internal battles in friendships, marriages, teams, workplaces, and school. Often times there is a battle over who does what or who is better at something. There is a battle over contentment in the role played. A lot of people want to be the star! Imagine our body's organs and appendages fighting over who should do what rather than what they are. You would have some real issues.

Even so in the church, when people are not content with where God has them and what He has them doing, the body of Christ suffers. Paul tells us that godliness with contentment is great gain. Wanting to serve the Lord is a wonderful thing, but if you lack contentment, there is much lost. If God has called you to preach, glory to God! If God has called you to empty trash cans, glory to God! No matter your function, if God has called you and made you for that position, it's all about Him, not us. Remember Paul's words to the Colossian church, "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men" (Colossians 3:17).

Blessings,
