Genesis 39:2-4

The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
Genesis 39:2-4

There is something to be said of Christians who continue to put their best foot forward despite troubling or terrible circumstances. Joseph had more reason than most to complain, get upset, throw a pity party, and do mediocre work given the fact that his own brothers sold him into slavery because of their jealousy.

While I'm sure Joseph had his tough days of feeling betrayed and not understanding why God would allow this to happen to him, he always made the choice to continue to give God his best. And giving God his best meant serving and performing the responsibilities given to him. As a result, Joseph found favor from those he served or worked for and despite even more bad things happening to him, he never veered from giving his best.

You may be the product of some unfortunate circumstances or unfair dealings but let Joseph be a reminder to you that at any point, by doing the right thing and working hard to honor the Lord with your best, it will not go unrewarded by our God. The Lord has His ways in making us prosper even if it means we have to take it on the chin a few times before it happens.
